Price the job, not just the page count
For a small service business, the essential journey may be a homepage, service explanation, evidence, company information and contact route. The scope grows if each service needs a different explanation, if content must be written, or if the website needs bookings, products or integrations.
A five-page website can still be complex if one page contains a custom booking workflow. Equally, a larger content site may use a few repeatable layouts. State the functionality and content work alongside the number of pages.
- Separate required features from later improvements.
- List the copy, photography, branding and product data you already have permission to use.
- Identify third-party accounts and who pays for them.
- Agree what must be tested before the project counts as complete.

Read the first 24 months correctly
For Starter, 24 monthly payments total £1,176. The one-off build is £995. Those figures alone do not show equal running costs: the monthly agreement includes care throughout the term; the one-off package includes 12 months of hosting and essential maintenance.
After the 24 monthly payments, there are no further build instalments and maintenance is optional. Do not add hypothetical renewal prices or subtract an assumed care fee to claim that either route is always cheaper. Compare your written scope and chosen ongoing arrangements.
